This April we have a full calendar of entrepreneurial events, from the Launch Competition this evening to the Galant Challenge later this month. We hope that many of you are also enjoying the entrepreneurship track of the Tom Tom Festival today!

Entrepreneurship Cup Launch Competition - April 18 (today)
5PM in the CODE Building
The Launch competition will take place on Thursday, April 18th at 5PM in the CODE Building located on the Downtown Mall (next to the Omni Hotel) at 225 West Water Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902. There will a $5,000 Audience Choice award! Invite your friends to come and vote! Be sure to have them RSVP on the DoorList app! Please note the link can only be accessed by phone and may require a second click if this is your first time downloading DoorList.

How to be a Hoo-nicorn: A Celebration of Entrepreneurship with UVA Alum Tommy Nicholas (CEO of Alloy) + Student Founders Across Grounds - April 19
3 - 4:30PM in Nau Hall 101, Main Grounds
Join us for a celebration of student entrepreneurship featuring Tommy Nicholas, CEO of Alloy (UVA CLAS ‘11). We’ll get to know Alloy’s journey from Techstars to global fintech unicorn, and hear from a panel of amazing student founders across Grounds. If you’re a student interested in entrepreneurship, you won’t want to miss this event! Register here.
The event will feature student founders Navya Aenugu from esSTEMtials (UVA College of Arts and Sciences), Taiwo Adepoju (UVA McIntire School of Commerce), Ellie Jamieson & Grace Collins from Play Henry (UVA Darden School of Business), Zack Landsman from JunkLabz (UVA School of Engineering & Applied Science), and Charlie Meyer from DoorShop (UVA College of Arts and Sciences).
After the event, join Founders@UVA on the Corner at Crozet Pizza to continue the conversation and network.
The Galant Challenge - April 25
4 - 6PM at McIntire School of Commerce
The Galant Challenge connects seed and early-stage ventures from the UVA community with potential investors. Since launching in 2012, the annual pitch competition hosted by the McIntire School of Commerce's Galant Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is one of the nation's premier university startup events, with significant funding by investors each year. The 2023 Challenge reached historic levels—entrepreneur teams who pitched raised more than $15 million to take their ventures to the next level. Register here to attend.
i.Lab Incubator Application Deadline - April 30
The i.Lab is an initiative of the Batten Institute at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, with financial support to current students from the University’s “Great and Good” entrepreneurship initiative. The Incubator supports UVA founders committed to building and growing early-stage ventures they want to see in the world with cohort-based strategic operational, legal, mentoring and financial support. Apply here by April 30th.
Social Entrepreneurship Summer Bootcamp - June 3-June 7
On Grounds
Students will learn to harness the power of social entrepreneurship to drive positive change in society. Learn the tools, strategies, and insights needed to transform your passion into impactful action. This program is generously funded by the Jefferson Trust. The application deadline has already passed, but you can email Professor Bala Mulloth at mulloth@virginia.edu to learn more.
